RSHE- Parent/ Carer Consultation Process

Life to the Full" Parent and Carer Consultation Session

During the recent session, we delved into the details of the RSHE (Relationships, Sex, and Health Education) programme tailored for Year 4, Year 5, and Year 6 students. The focus was on critical topics such as understanding differences, respecting our bodies, puberty, changing bodies, and, for Year 6, a more nuanced and scientific exploration of life in the womb and the process of baby-making.

One highlight of the session was the introduction of the "Life to the Full" programme, where we covered the following key points:

Understanding the Why: We provided insights into the rationale behind introducing this programme, underscoring the significance of arming our students with the knowledge and skills necessary to navigate crucial aspects of life.

Inspiration: Our goal was to inspire parents and carers by sharing the vision of the "Life to the Full" programme and demonstrating the positive impact it can have on the development of our children.

Understanding the Content: Attendees gained a comprehensive understanding of the programme's content, ensuring awareness of what their children will be learning and discussing in the classroom.

Information Access: We guided parents on where and how to access additional information about the programme's content, resources, and support, fostering a collaborative and informed approach to their children's education.

Consultation: An integral part of the session was providing an opportunity for parents and carers to actively contribute to the discussion surrounding key decisions related to the "Life to the Full" programme. Their input is valued in shaping the educational journey of their children.

In addition to the session, we have incorporated relevant information on the "Life to the Full" programme on the school's website. This resource serves as a hub for parents, offering detailed insights, supplementary materials, and avenues for ongoing support. We encourage you to explore the website to stay informed and engaged in your child's educational experience.
