  • #UKParliament #schoolcouncil

    Fri 10 Feb 2023

The school council thoroughly enjoyed their session with UK Parliament on Wednesday, 8th February. They learned about the work and role of the House of Commons and the House of Lords; the difference between the UK Parliament and the Government; the work of MPs and members of the House of Lords; how laws are made, and how they can get their voices heard. They also spoke with Conor Noon, a Senior Parliamentary Assistant to Tracey Crouch MP. The children asked some excellent questions and displayed great knowledge. #UKParliament #schoolcouncil

  • Chess Tournament

    Fri 10 Feb 2023

Over the last four weeks, some of our Year 6 children have participated in a Chess Tournament; this week was the finals. In the quarter-final, it was

    Martha v Fife

    Paul v Tishe

Both chess games were so brilliant to watch!

The encouragement, enthusiasm and great attitude they have shown to each other during each round were incredible – true Sportspersonship.

The final was on Thursday, a very intense game- even for the spectators and they showed great respect when watching Fife and Paul battle it out. Both players made challenging moves, trying their best to outwit each other.

The game resulted in a STALEMATE - What a fantastic game both young boys played; they are aiming to be Masters at this game – so

    congratulations

    to them both.

Everyone that took part or had a go received a certificate too.

    Well Done -

    Congratulations

    to everyone.
