  • Year 2 are very grateful for Zac's mum's visit today; we learned some wonderful facts about black history from significant men and women such as Nelson Mandela, Martin Luther King, and Harriette Tubman and the places they came from. We learned about the black panther movement and segregation and revolution. We had lots of fun playing musical statues to different genres of music and even received some tasty cakes! #blackhistoryeveryday #history #diversityandinclusion

  • Nursery were learning about, restarting your heart today. They did a wonder job resuscitating their teddies. Sudden cardiac arrests happen every day to anyone and without intervention the person will die quickly. Sadly, as so many happen in the home and out of hospital, in the UK, just one in ten people survive. • Black History and our Catholic Social Teaching

    Mon 16 Oct 2023

Reception have been learning a lot for Black History Month so far. They have linked their learning to the Catholic Social Teachings and this morning went on a peaceful protest, showing they respect and understand the need for EVERYONE to be seen and heard. Everyone should have the same rights as we are all God's children and have a heart. Throughout their learning, they reflected on the dove (peacemaker), the sheep (everyone should have a say) and the deer(everyone is special).

  • Our special guest as part of Black History Month

    Fri 13 Oct 2023

Zac's mother paid a visit, and it was a delightful session for the children as they immersed themselves in the stories of influential historical figures who have shaped our world today. Engaging discussions on topics like segregation took place, accompanied by the captivating tunes of renowned black artists. The children even incorporated these rhythms into their game of musical statues, all the while absorbing insights into the artists' backgrounds. The anticipation for the treats waiting for them at the end of the day is almost too much for St. Simon – they can't wait for those delicious cakes! Thank you so much

  • Harvest Mass

    Thu 12 Oct 2023

Thank you so much to Father Baker for a beautiful mass. You brought us together to embrace love and forgiveness within ourselves, our families, our community and to share together how we can nurture all of this in our hearts and in doing so, sow the seeds in every step we go. Giving God, we receive so much from you, and therefore have much to give. Help us to share in the blessings of giving as well as the happiness of receiving, that your love may be more widely, shared through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
